Zanzibar is an archipelago which can be found in the Indian Ocean.

Unguja and Pemba are its main islands but there is also a series of small islands following the two.

Locally, it is better known as Unguja. While internationally, Zanzibar is the more popular name of the archipelago.

It extends as long as 60 miles and stretches around 20 miles, filling up an estimate of 650 square miles. Zanzibar is noted for its attractive sandy beaches where coral reefs lie closely to the shore and also because of Stone Town, a heritage site, which is said to be the sole active town within East Africa.
